Scott Seibert

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I firmly believe that the family is the foundation of society. When we get married life and family life right, we get the world right! Because of that, my practice is focused on building up the family. I completed my Master-level training in Social Work here locally, completing my Master’s in Social Work at Indiana University in 2010. My clinical experience includes working with individuals, families, and adolescents with a great deal of my work surrounding those involved in the Department of Child Services and Juvenile Justice System. I believe that treatment of the person includes treating mind, body and soul. Faith-based counseling is key to the treatment of the whole person. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, working on marriage and couples counseling, working with youth with Sexually Maladaptive Behaviors, and working with individuals and families. My counseling focuses on persons with the following needs: Pre-Marital and Couples Counseling, Depression and Anxiety, Compulsive Behaviors, specifically those struggling with pornography and sexual issues (particularly men), Stress and Life Transitions, and Adolescents and Families. My approach to counseling can best be described as relational; establishing a trusting relationship between Counselor and Client is a very important part of the counseling process. I use motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, techniques from my training in John Gottman’s couple’s work, family systems, ecosystems, and family structural family therapy. I believe in trauma-informed care, and I value the importance in developing the individual’s narrative in understand their story and experiences as it relates to their treatment.
