One of the most troubling and life-limiting conditions is anxiety. It comes in a variety of forms and degrees. The signs and symptoms of anxiety often include: agitation, shortness of breath, excessive sweating, chest pain, heart palpitations, random and rapid thought processing, neck and shoulder tension and pain, a fear of being with people or even going out of your house, and in some instances, even a sense of panic.

Types of Anxiety Disorders

Social Anxiety Disorder or Social Phobia

Social Phobia can cause you to feel overwhelmed with worry and self-consciousness in daily social settings, fearing embarrassment, judgment or ridicule from others.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder

With this form of anxiety you experience a more constant and regular level of tension and worry, despite there being no apparent cause or reason.

Panic Disorder

Anyone who has experienced a panic attack will never forget what it feels like. It can, and usually does, strike at the most inopportune time and sees to come out of nowhere, escalating to a point where you may fee like you're choking or having a heart attack. In the event of such an episode, call 911 or have someone with you call 911 or take you to the nearest Emergency Room where you can receive immediate assessment and treatment.
