Hello, my name is Patricia and I would be humbled to have the opportunity to meet you. I believe that therapy should be safe and genuine. My philosophy is deeply rooted in empathetic listening and empowering individuals. I hope that my kindness and transparency may provide you with the comfort and freedom to express your inner thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Often, it is challenging and difficult to freely express ourselves. Words may not be adequate. Art therapy is an empirically based practice that offers an additional method of communication within the therapy setting. With my support, we can work to foster and nurture your inner creativity through using art materials. Creative expression brings self-understanding, personal power, spiritual growth, and healing. There are many ways to incorporate creative expression in therapy. I encourage alternative methods of creativity like music, poetry, movement, journaling, or meditation. Together, we can create healing that engages your mind, body, emotions, and spirit.

Currently, I am completing my Advanced Internship at Family Counseling Associates. By the completion of summer, I will be graduating with my MA in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in art therapy from the University of Indianapolis, College of Applied Behavioral Sciences. After I complete my master’s program, I will pursue licensure in mental health counseling and board certification in art therapy.

My previous clinical experiences include working with adults from a variety of backgrounds with medical and mental health concerns by offering both mental health counseling and art therapy. I have worked in the hospital setting and counseled a spectrum of patients with cancer, traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, developmental disabilities, and various neurological disorders.  Additionally, I have worked exclusively with cancer patients in an open art therapy studio that provided an expressive therapeutic environment.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. It would be a privilege to have the opportunity to support you in your healing process. The light within me recognizes the light within you.
