I decided to pursue clinical mental health counseling through a desire to come alongside others in their challenges and life changes, knowing that we can all learn and come out stronger. Through education and clinical experience, I have experienced myself and others be ‘transformed by the renewing of their minds’ (Romans 12:2). While transforming your mind and examining your emotional heritage may not change external circumstances, I have learned that changing your mindset can bring peace, freedom, and healing from past and current hurts. Life can bring expected and unexpected pain and loss, which no one needs to face alone.

In undergraduate school I spent two semesters in Brazil and Costa Rica, respectively for cultural immersion, missions and community service, and language acquisition. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have previously worked as an interim youth worker at a Lutheran church with middle school and high school students and did my clinical internship at Family Services Association working with adolescents and adults. I work with people through a wellness model and ecological approach, which involves people within their social and family systems and addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. My theoretical and treatment model preferences include strengths-based, motivational interviewing, and client-centered therapy.
