My name is Anna and I am so excited to start this journey with you. Deciding to start therapy can be a scary step and I want to commend you for putting yourself first. I take a cognitive behavioral approach, which means the focus is placed on thought processes and how they impact a person’s feelings and behaviors. As a licensed mental health counselor associate, I believe in taking a nonjudgmental, person-centered approach. You are the expert of your life and we will work together to collaboratively address your concerns.
My clinical experience started during my time in undergrad, where I worked in residential treatment facilities providing daily assistance for young boys ages 6 to 13 and female victims of human trafficking ages 13 to 17. From there, I began my work at a victim crime advocacy, working with adult victims, primarily victims of sexual assault. My clinical experiences have provided extensive training on trauma-based approaches, including therapeutic crisis interventions and completing the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault’s CORE 40 training. My clinical experience also includes supervised internships in both private practice and college counseling settings. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
