I completed my Masters-level training from Martin University where I was trained under three different disciplines. I learned Marriage and Family Counseling, Pastoral Counseling and Mental Health Counseling techniques. I have been practicing for 15+ years in several different settings specializing in the following areas: Depression and Anxiety; Relationship issues; PTSD and Trauma issues; Stress related and life transition concerns; and women’s issues. I also work with families and young adults. I believe in therapy, the client and provider are partners working together in order to meet the client’s need and reach treatment goals. The theoretical approach that I use most often is Cognitive Behavioral therapy; however, I have been trained and have certification in Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and in Gestalt therapy. It is very important to develop a collaborative and trusting working relationship between therapist and client in order to meet your goals and objective.
